The Story Unfolds Through an Intricate, Multi-character Narrative With Alternating Perspectives. Kuyili, a Woman From a Small, Oppressed Village, Initially Lives an Ordinary Life. After the Tragic Death of Her Husband Due to Alcoholism, She is Left to Raise Her Child Alone. Through Her Brother, She Learns That Many Women in Their Community Have Suffered Similar Losses.
